IRLP in Northwestern Ontario

IRLP Overview

IRLP is the Internet Radio Linking Program, developed by David Cameron, VE7LTD in 1997. (In other words, about eight years before Sykpe.) "The IRLP uses Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) custom software and hardware. Coupled with the power of the Internet, IRLP will link your repeater site or simplex station to the world in a simple and cost effective way. IRLP operates a worldwide network of dedicated servers and nodes offering very stable worldwide voice communications between hundreds of towns and cities. All this with unsurpassed uptimes and the full dynamic range of telephone quality audio." (Source: www.irlp.net.)

The NWO Reflector: 9002

With permission of Dave VE7LTD, we have permanently parked the Northwestern Ontario IRLP nodes on reflector 9000, channel two. Typically, you will find Atikokan, Dryden, Sioux Narrows, Fort Frances, Kenora, Sioux Lookout and Ignace on this node. Thunder Bay will connect as needed.

Users may disconnect any local node from reflector 9002, in order to connect to another node. Users are asked to reconnect to node 9002 upon completion.
